There have been similar applications before that got rid of the clutter and make the reading experience both more enjoyable and easier, now Evernote’s Clearly has been released for Chrome users.
The Chrome extension sits to the right of the location bar as a well chosen little desk lamp icon.
That symbol is a well chosen allusion, as the extension does force a deep focus on the content, just like a desk lamp focused on a book. The article is stripped of all distractions like navigation or worryingly from a publishers point of view, advertisements. With multiple page article that would previously require several clicks to read all read into the pane so you can read the whole thing at once.
